Question

I’m currently 1000 miles away from a Sawtooth G4. After about 50+ days of being up it finally had to restart (power outage, I assume). The problem was that prior to the restart, I was logged in to my FileVault protected user account.

I now need to access files from said account, but I can’t seem to mount the image to even try to sftp them to me.

Also, it’d be nice to restart some services I had running (i.e. Folding at Home, and Mail.app)

So…here’s my questions.

1. How can I mount a FileVault protected home directory solely through a remote Terminal session? (I assume my computer is at the Login Window.)

2. How can I start Mail via terminal and answer the password prompts that will come up (no sense in starting the app if all it’s going to do is sit there with several password dialog boxes)?

3. Is there a way to remote login to my machine as if I were actually sitting at it using only a remote Terminal session? For instance, if I created a folder via remote terminal session, a user sitting at the machine would see it created before their eyes. Is there a way to have the computer login to the user account, loading whatever programs and running the scripts in my StartupItems folder?
