safari icons

i was cleaning up my hd and deleted the contents of my safaris i con folder. now the default icon is used for every web page. I thought when i re-visited the webpages in my bookmarks that the icon would be re-instated but thats not the case. how do i get the icons for the webpages back?

I poked around and the Safari preference file mentions the location of the icons (WebIconCache or something) but nothing about what files are in it.

You might try resetting Safari, but then you lose cookies and passwords…
