Ok So I purchased a airport card for my Power Mac G4 and yes I purchased the correct card, the first card when installed the computer wouldn’t even start the OS. So I returned the card and got a new one. Now when installed the OS does come up YEAH! but here’s the problem, the computer WONT eject now and it still doesn’t “find” the card! ARRGGGGGGGG I installed correctly, I think,
I brought the side down, after I turned the computer off of course, installed the airport card in the airport slot, with the serial number facing up, made sure that it is seated correctly, made sure the antenna was plugged in, shut the computer up, started it, that heavenly Mac DING and the OS comes up. But it won’t find the card. I am so aggravated I am tempted to take it back to the store and have a geek install it for me! But I can’t let that happen, my geek status would diminish! So any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance
If you followed these instructions http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42712 and it’s still not going, then there may be a lose connection to the MLB from the AirPort card slot. It’s been a while for me, so I’m unsure of what that connection looks like, but if it’s human-reseatable then I’d try. If it’s soldered, then you’re looking to have a screwdriver monkey work on it. :\
Yep thats the one I used to “check” my work, it still doesnt find the darn thing.
