Now before I start telling all you experts what the problem is let me explain what my macless knowledge has made me do first. I had a demo of “samplit” which i wanted to delete/uninstall, so i dragged it over an app called Appdelete which removed it and any files associated with it from my computer. I’m trying now to install reason 3.0 and have dragged the folder over to the applications folder on the drive. Now when I go to launch the application (obviously to continue the install with the orchestra and factory content CD) it displays the following error “Remote system could not be installed because access to the global Application Support folder was denied” Try running the disk utility ad repair permission, and try to run reason again. Ok now i have repaired permissions and it still doesnt work. i used Macpilot to have a look at hidden files and i noticed that there was a folder called home/library/application support/ I know i have been a complete twat so could someone please help to resolve this issue so that i can continue to install reason and finish my projects cheers guys!!! michaelgreig@mac.com HELP!

if the foulder is still in the trash, put the ‘Application Support’ foulder back on the harddrive while logged in as administrator, then just remove the samplit fouler in it to the trash. For future reference, there is a program called app zapper that may be free. otherwise, mac apps installed into the root application foulder make 3 foulders (that i know of )when launched: an application support foulder named after the app, a plist file named similar to the app application’s name (suppose to be the reverse of the app’s website most likely, like com.barebones.textwrangler.plist) in the Library/Preferences foulder, and another one if it has per user preferences so check your homefoulder/Preferences/ folder for a similarly named file. the hard part will be putting the foulder back. if it’s not in the admin account’s trash, move it to the /Usrs/Shared foulder and let the admin take it from there.
I have the same problem, but cannot seem to figure out, sorry just an average guy. I downloaded the mac pilot but could not find the file home/library/application support/. I can’t install Reason because of that same error
“Remote system could not be installed because access to the global Application Support folder was denied”
Try running the disk utility ad repair permission, and try to run reason again.
Do you have a sloution or somewhere that I can research
