Hello, I noticed a strange phenomenon yesterday on my G4 Quicksilver running OS 10.4.10. I normally use a regular user account for security purposes, and noticed that I could go into my Admin Documents folder. It was just by accident that I noticed it. Has anyone seen this behavior or have an explanation? Is it a flaw in the OS 10.4.10 patch?

are you worried that you shouldn’t be able to access your admin account’s Documents foulder from your normal account through Quicksilver? If so, first do a permisions check and fix.
You should know that the default permissions for new folders is for others to have read only permissions, which Quicksilver could still access and then things make sense, but not Default permissions for your Documents folder. You can correct this by changing this :get info > Ownership & Permissions > Details: Others, drop-down menu and change to read only and Apply to enclosed items (the button below this)
Next from the non admin account look at the admin accounts documents in the finder and see if there is a red circle with minus sign in it. If so, you shouldn’t be able to open it because you dont have read access to it. next time you’re able to access something in your admin account’s foulder from another user, reveal it in finder from quicksilver and make sure it is inside your admin account’s user foulder, then check the permissions on that foulder and change it so only the owner can read it (as is normal for the documents folder) realize that it is normal for others to have read access your Home folder.
