ScriptExport: An all-purpose iPhoto export pluginHi folks, This may not be the proper place for such a thing, so I won’t be offended if you delete this post, but it seems like a thing that geeks would be into. I’m a geek, and I wanted somebody to write this for ages… Anyhow, I just released an iPhoto export plugin called ScriptExport. The idea is to let you process your photos with shell scripts, python scripts, or anything else that can be invoked from the command line. You have access to all of the iPhoto metadata in the form of environment variables. The goal is not to compete with plugins likee FlickrExport or iPhotoToGallery, but rather to let you fill in the gaps when those specialized plugins don’t cover your needs. For example, I recently needed to export a bunch of photos, convert them to sRGB color space, and upload them to a Gallery installation. Unfortunately, iPhotoToGallery doesn’t have any color management functionality and neither does Gallery, so I wrote a python script to do the conversion and uploading, using ScriptExport to feed the script.
