As of version 1.9 of TiVo Desktop, there exists a hidden feature that activates if the LAME command-line utility exists at /usr/local/bin/lame. If this is available, TiVo Desktop will transcode on-the-fly your AAC music to MP3 for the TiVo.

I installed this on Leopard. While I can see the AAC songs listed on my Tivo series 3, the song plays only static — it sounds like a TV on an empty channel. Any fix ideas?
I had the same experience. Hiss and static, nothing more. Oh, it also caused by Time Machine to convulse when restarting the mac. Had quite a lousy time trying to straighten it out.
