TrivialHi, it drives me crazy: it looks rather easy, but I don’t find a solution. Maybe you have one at hand. Somehow, I am convinced that I need a keyboard shortcut in finder taking me directly to my picture folder. Cmd + shift + B (yes, I’m german translating picture into Bilder) would be my first choice. Okay, I could use Quicksilver or similar, but that’s making things to easy, isn’t? Any hint is appreciated. Tank you. dw006 This is entirely pointless if you have an iPhone. However, if you’re locked into a Sprint contract until next October, sometimes it’s nice to see how the other side lives. The iPhone redirects RSS requests through Curious as to what I was missing, I grepped MG’s logs for iPhone browser user agent strings (we’re well-read in the Bay Area, it appears) and found some. So I made a modified attempt: curl -A “Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; OS X Leopard 9A365; en) KHTML” http://reader.mac.com/mobile/v1/http%3A//www.hopelessgeek.com/rss.xml > foo.htmlThere's more » These are 3 apps that I recently discovered, Nocturne is made by the QuickSilver people, BlackTree. The app simply turns your screen "white on black" as the normal Accessability option goes but it can also turn it monocrome, remove backdrop and other things. ThisServce turns any script you write in any installed language into a service. those were found on "DaringFireball.net" finally MacFuse and MacFusion. MacFuse is a mac implimentation of FUSE, File System in User Space. It allows SSHFS a much needed edition to geeks everywhere, and finaly, spotlight fs. Just watch his video of mac fuse Is there a way to output your macbook’s video to a 24’‘ monitor or TV. I own both the mini-dvi to svideo and mini-dvi to VGA. I tried using both but there is not enough video resources to output video becuase apparently there is no way to stop displaying on the mac screen. I wanted to ask you if you can find a way to stop displaying anything on the macbook screen so it only displays on the external monitor like how you can do on windows. Hi there, is there a way to alter the default width of columns when in column view? Is there a simple method to do a one button SIGSTOP/SIGCONT on an app? I tend to have tabs and tabs (and windows and windows) that I’m not ready to close, so I end up doing kill -SIGSTOP pid for Camino. Problem is, the pid is not always gonna be the same. Hi there. I have just been given a belkin wireless optical desktop kit. It is great, bar the fact that is PC. Surprisingly most things work, but I was wondering if there was a way to remap certain keys, ie: swap the windows key and the alt key around, and get a few more of the extra media buttons working. I have a 400mhz G4 running OSX10.3.9. Since the new Airport Extreme has come out, there have been all sorts of numbers flying about in different speed tests. As you almost certainly know, what Macworld or some random Joe may get in his tests are all but completely irrelevant to most other users simply because of ISP/bandwidth differences at different locales. It’s nice to see what Macworld has to say, but I would like to run my own tests once mine arrives so that I can accurately gauge any speed differences. I know how to go about doing an internet speed test (my favorite test is www.speakeasy.net/speedtest), but that too is right up there near useless when one considers that my download speeds are already maxed out at 10Mb/sec. What I want to do is have an accurate test so that I can gauge the speed increases (if any are to be had) with transfers across my LAN, without having to rely on the very untrusty “stopwatch” method. Is there a quick Applescript (or some other such code wizardry) that can be whipped up which will record transfer rates across my LAN? Like most people i’m sure, my computer is in my bedroom, and is on 24/7. I have my apple displays automatically sleep after 15 min of inactivity, but when i go to sleep i want them to go to sleep immediately. The best way i’ve been able to do this is to go to the energy saver control panel every night and change it to 1 min before putting them to sleep, then change it again in the morning. ugh! What i would love to do is reprogram the power button on my 23’‘ display to put both displays directly to sleep. A simple display ‘off’ button. thanks for the help guys For immediate release.
